Whether you royal ice your cakes using traditional techniques or opt for a modern sugarpaste covering, piped greetings add a professional touch to any celebration cake. This class will cover royal iced piped inscriptions and run outs, along with new modern techniques to include brushtroke lettering, painting with cocoa butter and working with Tappitts and stencils.

On this 1-day course you will learn the techniques and skills involved when producing beautiful inscriptions for cakes, favours and other sweet treats.

Discover the basic skills needed to achieve the perfect finish, from how to fill a piping bag to achieving the optimum consistency for your icing. Squires Kitchen’s Tutor Claire Fitzsimons will guide you through the initial layout and planning stages and then teach you how to pipe decorative lettering, including direct piping and run-outs. Pick up a wealth of invaluable tips and hints to perfect your writing skills with an expert sugarcrafter.

Claire will also cover brushtroke lettering, painting with cocoa butter and working with Tappitts and stencils.

You will leave the course with a sample board, plenty of inspiration and design ideas and the confidence to create.

You will receive a Squires Kitchen Certificate as a record of your achievement.
