Create a two-tiered version of this stunning floral cascade celebration cake with award-winning cake designer and expert tutor Emma Woods.
The classic cascade design has a fresh new feel with vibrantly coloured flowers for a truly celebratory feel. The waterfall design enhances the elegance of the cake underneath and gives a sense of energy and movement to the design.
Working on “dummy” cakes that are perfect for displaying, you will first learn the secret behind creating flawless sharp edge using sugarpaste. Once you have created the perfect canvas, Emma will show you how to stack and dowel your tiers to create the perfect base for your floral decorations. You will learn how to make convincing sugar peonies, tea roses and Juliet roses that will make your client look twice to see if they are real, in addition to learning the importance that foliage and filler flowers play in finishing a design. Emma will show you how to individually wire and vein your petals and leaves and to add colour using edible dusts for a hyper-realistic finish. You will also learn how to tape the petals and leaves together to create the final flowers, and then how to arrange and attach your blooms flawlessly to your cake.
You will leave with a stunning floral showstopper, the knowledge and skills to create flawless sharp-edged cakes and delicate, realistic flowers. You will also leave with a Squires Kitchen certificate and recipes to try at home.
